I wish I could say I knew your story. I wish I could say I was wise to the ends and outs, the ups and downs that make you who you are. I wish I knew full well what all you’ve been through so that I could better understand you and the situation you’re facing—but I don’t. Sadly, I am only left with generalized sentiments and hopeful blessings.
I felt the need to write to you because I know that you’re facing something that seems big and frightening. I don’t know how much comfort my words will be, but at the very least, they will serve to let you know that someone somewhere is thinking about you and praying for you. I hope these words will at the very least allow you to feel less alone. If nothing else, I hope they will offer a reminder that our everlasting grace and mercy is found in the God who watches out for us and would never put us through something He knew we couldn’t handle. Whatever you’re facing, you’re worth what it takes to survive. You’re strong enough for this fight.
Whatever you’re going through, whatever it is that you’re facing, please know that you possess the courage to come out the other side. You may not feel like it right this moment, but despite the treacherous amounts of pain and weighted guilt you’re carrying, you have what it takes to come through this situation, and to be a better person because of it. I believe that about you. I hope you do too. It’s not easy to see the light when we’re surrounded by shadows, but as a wise man once said, “The shadow proves the sunshine”. Your time of beauty and sweetness is on its way; just keep your faith and hope aligned in Him. After all, after everything else has wasted away, there is always hope.
Sometimes it’s easy to feel as if life enjoys beating us down. Things pile up and weigh heavy on our hearts. Often times, it isn’t through any fault of our own, but there the heaviness sits nonetheless, warping our views of self-worth, value, and beauty. But please know that despite what your circumstances are telling you—what they’re screaming at you—you are the brightened soul that will emerge from this seeming debacle with a fresh breath of appreciation for all that you have and all that you are. Life may be beating you down at this moment, but remember that life continues to be about the ebb and flow of things. You may feel down and out in this moment, but your time of redemption is coming ever closer. Please, keep the faith in that.
I realize that we don’t know each other and it’s unlikely that we ever will, but know that you always have a readymade friend in me. Should you need a person to speak with or a person to lean on, I’ll gladly offer you whatever you’re needing in your moments of despair. Mainly because I myself have been in those alone and roughened times, but also because I’ll do whatever I can to help alleviate your suffering. What am I good for if not that?
Things may not seem worthy of a battle, but I can assure you that they are. I am a testament to the One who provides the strength and bravery needed to come through a crushing blackness. And soon you will be too.
You are not alone. You are not defeated. You are not lacking anything of value.
You are worth something beautiful. You are someone valuable. You are needed.
